COLONEL DEAN D. SNIEGOWSKI

Colonel Dean D. Sniegowski is the 310th Space Wing Commander, Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. As the leader of the only space wing in Air Force Reserve Command, he directs operations and staff activities of over 1,100 military and civilian personnel at 16 units and three geographically separated units. Their mission sets include space operations, network security, command and control of space forces, missile warning, navigation, weather, medical and mission support. The wing is also responsible for providing support to Air Force Space Command's security forces missions and professional development at the National Security Space Institute. Collectively, the units support Combatant Commanders worldwide on a daily basis.
 
Colonel Sniegowski entered the Air Force in 1995 after commissioning through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training program at Eastern Michigan University. He has been qualified as a Deputy Crew Commander for the Peacekeeper ICBM and Navigator and Radar Navigator on the B-52 Stratofortress aircraft.
 
He has served as a Flight Commander, Electric Warfare Officer, Plans Flight Commander, Chief of Deployment and Training, Assistant Director of Operations, Director of Operations and Squadron Commander. Colonel Sniegowski is a Navigator with more than 1,100 flying hours, including 17 combat sorties in the B-52 in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. Prior to his current assignment, he was the 610th Command and Control Squadron Commander at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona.
