COLONEL JAMES R. TAGGART

Col. James R. Taggart serves as the Commander of the 310th Space Wing, Air Force Reserve Command, Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. The wing is the only space wing in Air Force Reserve Command. He directs the operations and staff activities of approximately 1,300 military and civilian personnel across 18 units and three direct reporting units supporting a wide variety of space operations missions and weapon systems valued at over $46 billion. The missions of these units range from space operations, network security, command and control of space forces, missile warning, medical and mission support. His wing provides vital Reserve surge capabilities, expertise, and continuity in support of U.S. Space Command, Department of Defense and Department of Commerce space missions. Collectively, the units support combatant commanders worldwide on a daily basis.

Taggart was selected as a Phoenix Hawk intern, Air Mobility Command’s premier leadership development program. In 2007, he joined the Air Force Reserve and served in several operational, command, and staff assignments at the unit and Major Command levels.
