COLONEL DAMON S FELTMAN

Colonel Damon S. Feltman is the commander of the 310th Space Wing, Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. The unit is the only space wing in Air Force Reserve Command. He directs the operations and staff activities of over 950 military personnel at 16 units and three direct reporting units. The missions of these units range from space operations, network security, command and control of space forces, missile warning, medical and mission support. The wing is also responsible for providing support to Air Force Space Command's security forces missions and professional development at the National Security Space Institute. Collectively the units support Combatant Commanders world-wide on a daily basis.

Colonel Feltman graduated from Mississippi State University in 1991 and received his commission through the Air Force ROTC program. He has served in a variety of staff, command, air staff and combatant command levels. In his most recent position he maintained oversight of development and coordination of all training and education policies affecting 1.1 million Guardsmen and Reservists. He also served as the Executive Officer for the 100 person Air Staff office and 1,500-person major command headquarters of the dual-hatted Chief of the Air Force Reserve and Commander, Air Force Reserve Command. He has also been a commander of a space operations squadron for the Global Positioning System and a staff officer at both Air Force Reserve Command and United States Strategic Command. Colonel Feltman has led operations crews for three different satellite programs, was the senior crew commander for an intercontinental ballistic missile squadron, and was the space strategy and plans officers for an Air Operations Center squadron. He has also served as an instructor and curriculum developer for the Air and Space Basic Course at Air University.
