710th Operations Group The 710th Operations Group is part of the 310th Space Wing, the only space wing in the Air Force Reserve. The 710th is located at Buckley Space Force Base, Colorado, with units assigned to Schriever and Peterson Space Force Bases, Colorado. Organization: The group is composed of six units: the 380th Electromagnetic Warfare Squadron, 428th Electromagnetic Warfare Flight, the 42nd Combat Training Squadron, the 4th and 8th Space Warning Squadrons and the 710th Operations Support Flight. All units are classically associated with U.S. Space Force units of the Space Operations Command, STAR Delta, Delta 3 and Delta 4. Missions: The 380th Electromagnetic Warfare Squadron at Peterson SFB is an associate to the 16th Electromagnetic Warfare Squadron operating the Bounty Hunter system monitoring satellite communications links worldwide to detect, characterize and geolocate satellite communications jammers, sources of interference and other signals of interest. The 380th is also a “legacy squadron” of the 310th, having initially activated in 1942 flying B-25 Mitchell aircraft with the 310th Bombardment Group during World War II. The 428th Electromagnetic Warfare Flight at Peterson SFB is an associate to the 4th EWS in a total force integration readiness partnership to train, equip, mobilize and employ space electromagnetic warfare capabilities to support the full spectrum national security objectives. The Reserve officer and enlisted SEW professionals provide extensive knowledge of advanced orbital mechanics, satellite command-and-control and mission planning concepts to bolster crew force depth, continuity, readiness and surge capacity for this critical mission. As another "legacy unit" of the 310th, the 428th was original activated as the 428th Bombardment Squadron, flying the B-25 Mitchel Bomber under the 310th Bombardment Group. It was later activated again, under the 310th Bombardment Wing, flying the B-47 Stratojet Strategic Bomber. The Flight was initially activated as the 710th Operations Group, Detachment 1 on Sept. 17, 2021, and redesignated to the 428th EWF on Feb. 28, 2023. The 42nd Combat Training Squadron is a fully integrated partner with the 319th Combat Training Squadron, participating in every aspect of the mission by training and certifying instructors, providing subject matter experts, and assisting in the development and instruction of all courses offered. 4th Space Warning Squadron at Buckley SFB, Colorado, is an associate to the 11th Space Warning Squadron and operates the Space-Based Infrared System providing missile warning, missile defense, technical intelligence, and battlespace characterization to warfighters and national leadership. The 8th Space Warning Squadron at Buckley SFB, Colorado is an associate to the 2nd Space Warning Squadron and operates the Space-Based Infrared System providing missile warning, missile defense, technical intelligence, and battlespace characterization to warfighters and national leadership. The 710th Operations Support Flight is composed of 4 flights that provide instructor training, mission qualification training, advanced training, crew force management, weapons and tactics training and comprehensive intel support for all 710th Operations Group units.
