Military members heal through artistic expression

Kim Le Nguyen, an art therapist at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, offers artistic healing courses to Veterans at the Bemis School of Art for no charge. She teaches techniques using creative exercise and therapeutic processes to encourage creative skills and inspire self-expression and healing. The course also includes a tour of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center's galleries to provide inspiration for those attending.

Nguyen's next class, Military Artistic Healing for Active Duty & Veterans, will be held from June 20th to Aug. 22nd, every Tuesday from 3-5 PM (no classes July 4th or July 11th). Those interested can register at:

There will also be a class for those looking to reintegrate with their children after deployment or just want to spend quality time together as a family. Family members will have the opportunity to work together with hands-on projects as well as exercises to improve interaction and communication skills. The Military Family Artistic Healing course, for ages 8-Adult, will be held June 20th to Aug. 22nd, every Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 PM (no classes July 4th or July 11th).
