Schriever invites all to join “seasonal celebrations around the world”
This year's Holiday Party will celebrate charity by giving back to the local Colorado Springs and Ellicott communities, our military and our Schriever family. While enjoying a diverse buffet and exploring seasonal tastes and celebrations from around the world, there will be opportunities to donate to our local food and toy drives, participate in games, dancing and comradery.
Tickets are on sale now through Wednesday. Contact your individual ticket sales point of contact to purchase tickets and discuss child care options.
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Schriever shuttle service suspended
The shuttle from Peterson to Schriever Air Force Base is temporarily suspended while base officials work to obtain an approved ridership waiver. Current shuttle users should work with their units to make short-term alternate transportation arrangements. Updates will be published here when they are available.
50th SW Chapel Office hosts Angel Tree gift collection
Get into the spirit of the season by sponsoring those in need. The Ellicott School District and Schriever Air Force Base community children need your help. Pick up an angel on a tree by the Satellite Dish Dining Facility, Building 210 atrium, beginning now through Dec. 8. Visit the 50th Space Wing Chaplain’s Office in Building 210, Room 270 or in Building 300, Room 149. You can also e-mail the assigned child’s code to 50SWHC_Workflow@us.af.mil to receive more information. Gifts will be collected Friday - Dec. 8 in the Chaplain's Office. 21st MDS reduced immunization capabilities
Due to staffing shortages, the 21st Medical Squadron will have reduced immunization capabilities throughout the month of December. Only adult influenza vaccinations will be available at the Schriever clinic Nov. 29 - Jan. 5. All other adult immunizations and all child immunizations will be available through the 21st Medical Group at Peterson Air Force Base. If you have any questions or concerns, call Master Sgt. Armed Forces Cross Country Championship
If you would like to compete in the Armed Forces Cross Country Championship, applications are now being accepted for Active Duty, Guard, and Reserve members. Legal Office changes operating hours
The 50th Space Wing Legal Office will be closed daily from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. The office will also be temporarily closed Thursdays until further notice. If you have a deployment-related issue or need to contact a member of the staff, call 567-5050 for assistance.

Staff and Family Tour
Public Affairs will host the quarterly Staff and Family tour Dec. 15. Get a look into the space mission and invite your spouse. No children under the age of eight. Contact the Public Affairs office at 567-5040 to register by Dec. 13.
Pharmacy OTC medication program
The 21st Medical and Dental Squadron pharmacy has started an over-the-counter medication program available to all active duty, dependents and retirees enrolled at Schriever Air Force Base and Peterson Air Force Base. This does not include personnel who are on flying status, Personnel Reliability Program status, Arming and Use of Force, pregnant, breastfeeding or tasked for deployment. Eligible beneficiaries are able to visit the pharmacy without an appointment and may select up to three OTC medications from a preselected list. Pharmacy hours are 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. For more information, contact Capt. Kyle Smith at 567-4423.
Kidde recalls 37.8 million fire extinguishers with plastic handles
Fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge, which can fail to activate during a fire emergency. Consumers should immediately contact Kidde to request a free replacement fire extinguisher and for instructions on returning the recalled unit. 19th SOPS holds blood drive

Lactation rooms available
New moms, there are dedicated lactation rooms inside the Restricted Area, Buildings 24, 210, 300, 400 and 730. These rooms provide dedicated space for lactation and will assist with successful breastfeeding while serving at Schriever.

TA mass briefing, one-on-one education counseling available
Tuition assistance briefing followed by education counseling is now offered every last Wednesday of the month in Building 210, Room 310. Mass TA Counseling is held 8 - 9:30 a.m. and one-on-one education counseling at 9:30 a.m. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. To sign up, call Master Sgt. Off-base
Volunteers needed for Martin Luther King observance
The Martin Luther King Observance planning committee is looking for volunteers to help facilitate the MLK celebration Jan. 12, at the Peterson Air Force Base chapel. The committee is in need of five to six volunteers to assist with the remaining planning efforts. Volunteers would be responsible for assisting in audio/visual (no training required), helping coordinate programs and e-invites with protocol, and assisting with set-up and tear-down. Society of Military Widows holds meeting
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse’s rank. Military Retirees Activities Office
The Military Retiree Activities office holds its monthly council meeting the second Thursday of each month at 2:30 p.m. in Building 350, Room 1206, at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. Cub Scout troops seeks recruits

Fort Carson DLA announces services
Disposition Services Colorado Springs, located in Building 324, 1475 Wickersham Boulevard, Fort Carson, conducts orientations by appointment. The orientations discuss disposition services/processes to include turning in excess property, reutilizing government property, available web-based tools, special handling of property and environmental needs.
