50th SW hosts Staff Sgt. release party

Falcon Parkway repairs
Falcon Parkway will be reduced to single-lane access until Sept. 12. The traffic circle will be unaffected by construction. For more information, contact Staff Sgt. Marquis Williams at 567-4323.

PA looking for Air Force Marathon participants
For those Schriever Airmen who are participating in the Air Force Marathon Sept. 15 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, contact the Public Affairs office at 567-5040. We are looking for selfie submissions, photos and videos of the event highlighting Schriever Airmen.

Schriever to hold USO Military Spouse Employment Workshop
A USO Military Spouse Employment Workshop will be held 9 – 11 a.m. Aug. 29 at the Schriever event center. 2018 Green Dot Program refresher class registration

Annual Green Dot Refresher Classes occur 2 - 3 p.m. Tuesdays, and 8 - 9 a.m. Fridays in the Building 300 Auditorium. All classes must be completed by Oct. 31. AFOSI to host counter-intelligence awareness briefings

The Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado, Air Force Office of Special Investigations will conduct counter-intelligence awareness briefings on the first and third Wednesday of every month in the Building 300 auditorium. Briefings will be at 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday and 8 a.m. on the third Wednesday of the month. No registration is necessary, and sign-in sheets will be provided at each briefing. KMC to provide training
The Knowledge Management Center is providing a reoccurring training/classes for the Knowledge Management programs. Classes will be held in Building 301, Room 119. Every first and third Thursdays of the month, Records Management will be held 12 – 1 p.m. and Freedom of Information-Privacy Act will be held 1:45 – 3:15 p.m. Publications and Forms class will be held 1 – 3 p.m. every third Thursday of the month. TVC to host town hall

Voluntary Leave Transfer Program - Robert Bruce
Robert Bruce has been approved for the Voluntary Leave Transfer Program due to a current medical condition. Legal Office changes operating hours
The 50th Space Wing Legal Office is closed daily from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. The office will also be closed 7:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. every Thursday. If you have a deployment-related issue or need to contact a member of the staff, call 567-5050 for assistance.

MetroRides Vanpool provides openings
MetroRides Vanpool is a government subsidized program for all Department of Defense Civil Service employees and active duty military. There is no out of pocket expense for DoD vanpool participants. Contractors may also participate. The route starts at the Safeway shopping center parking lot in Fountain, Colorado, departing at 6:05 a.m. and arriving at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado, at 6:30 a.m. The vanpool departs Schriever AFB at 4 p.m. and arrives back at Safeway at 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. TAPS to host Good Grief Camp
The Tragedy Assistance Program will host a Good Grief Camp Sept. 8 – 9 in Denver, Colorado. Children are able to share and learn coping skills through games, crafts and other activities in a fun and supportive environment. Each child is paired with a military mentor who reminds the child that he or she is still a part of the military community. Mentors need to be available 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sept. 8 and 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sept. 9. Lodging accommodations are available for those who reside more than 45 miles from the event. All meals are provided Sept. 8 and breakfast and lunch will be provided Sept. 9. If you have any questions about how you can volunteer, contact Melissa Hermosillo at 915-780-3344. Noncommissioned Officer Association recruitment
The Noncommissioned Officer Association Air Academy Chapter is recruiting. It's a great opportunity to meet former chiefs and make a difference in the community. Meetings occur every third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Palmer Room at The Club at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. Society of Military Widows holds meeting

The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse’s rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets on the last Wednesday of the month, 10:30 a.m. at The Club at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. Military Retirees Activities Office
The Military Retiree Activities Office holds its monthly council meeting the second Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at The Club at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. USAFA to host Farish Recreation Area Walk
The United States Air Force Academy Outdoor Recreation Center and the Falcon Wanderers Walking Club invite you to the Farish Recreation Area Walk Sept. 22. The walk will start at the Conference Center at 12005 Rampart Range Road, Woodland Park. This event is free and open to the public. Register to walk any time between 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. with a finish time by 3 pm. Large-wheeled strollers can complete the courses with difficulty, but wheelchairs are not recommended.
