Fire Prevention Week
Fire prevention week is Oct. 7 - 13. Protect your family from fire with these tips:

Safe use and proper installation of household appliances that burn fossil fuels, (i.e. fuel fired furnace, gas water heater, gas stoves, fireplace) is the best protection you can provide your family. Carbon monoxide detectors can add a level of protection, but are not a substitute for safe use of equipment. Have all heating equipment inspected and serviced each year. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installation; install at least one carbon monoxide detector near sleeping areas (within 15 feet) and one on every level of your home. Carbon monoxide detectors should be replaced after seven years of service or as recommended by the manufacturer. For more information, contact fire prevention at 567-3370.
