Voluntary Leave Transfer Program

Paul Ray, Robert Matthias and Elizabeth Archuleta have been approved for the Voluntary Leave Transfer Program. To donate leave, please do the following:

  1. Complete the OPM 30-A
  2. Request to donate annual leave to recipient under the VLTP

FTAC NCOIC Position Hiring

The 50th Force Support Squadron is seeking an outstanding staff sergeant or technical sergeant to fill a one-year key leadership position beginning Feb. 3. The First Term Airman’s Course provides a structured program to transition Airmen from a training mindset to a mission-oriented environment. Applicants will be contacted for an interview mid-January. If selected, the member will intern during the Feb. 3-7 FTAC, facilitate the March FTAC under supervision and then assume full oversight for the April FTAC. Tuition Assistance brief

The 50th Force Support Squadron is scheduled to host a tuition assistance brief 3 – 4 p.m. Jan. 13 and Jan. 27 in Room 310, Building 210. No appointment is required and the briefing is mandatory for all first-time TA users. Additionally, any personnel who have not pursued their education in the last year are now required by AFI 36-2649 to have follow-up counseling. This briefing fulfills the requirement.

Time Management course

The 50th Force Support Squadron is scheduled to host a time management course 9 – 11 a.m. Jan. 14 in Room 310, Building 210. The course is designed to assist with organization, timing, projects procrastination and building a daily schedule.

Informed decision course

The 50th Force Support Squadron is scheduled to host an informed decision course 9 a.m. – Noon, Jan. 28 in Room 310, Building 210. The course is designed to enhance knowledge of Air Force benefits. The goal is to ensure personnel obtain the needed information in order to make sound decisions for themselves and their family. First term Airmen and second term Airmen 12-15 months prior to their date of separation are required to attend pending involuntary separation.

Fuel sales unavailable starting Dec. 16

Repairs to the Schriever AFB Shoppette fuel dispensers and distribution lines are expected to last 12 weeks. During this period, the Shoppette will remain open and accessible during normal business hours. Fuel sales will not be available.

21st Medical Squadron closures

Thursday: 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Training day

Jan. 17: Noon – 4:30 p.m. Family day

Jan. 20: All day, holiday

Feb. 13: 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Training day

 Air Force Health Promotion Office: Upcoming Events

The Health Promotion office will be closed the following dates:

  • Wednesday

Knowledge Management Center Provides Training

The Knowledge Management Center provides recurring classes for knowledge management programs. The following classes are offered the first and third Thursday of the month in Building 301, Room 119:

  • Records Management: Noon-1:30 p.m.
  • Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act: 1:45-3:15 p.m.
  • Publications and Forms class: 1-3 p.m. (every third Thursday of the month)

    Heartbeat

    Heartbeat was organized to help survivors absorb the impact of self-inflicted death, to offer the comfort of empathetic understanding and acceptance, and to support each other through healthy grief management. Meetings are scheduled for the third Tuesday of the month.

    Air Force Seeks Logistics Planners

    TAPS Youth Programs

    The TAPS Good Grief Camp is a program for children who have lost a loved one who served in the Armed Forces. Good Grief Camp provides a safe space for military children to explore grief and embrace healing. 

The camp is scheduled March 27 – 29 at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Military Retirees Activities Office  

The Military Retiree Activity Office hosts a monthly meeting for all military retirees and their spouses on the second Thursday of every month at 11:30 a.m. The next meeting will be held at the Peterson Air Force Base Club. The Society of Military Widows

The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse’s rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets at 10:30 a.m. the last Wednesday of the month at the Peterson AFB Club, Colorado. For more information, call 331-6689 or 260-8172.

Falcon 50: Apr. 25, 2020

The United States Air Force Academy is scheduled to host the Falcon 50, an event consisting of four different races: the Military Heavy (a 26.2-mile run with a 35-lb ruck), a half marathon, a marathon, and a 50-mile run. Participants must register by April 20 by searching “Falcon 50” on www.UltraSignup.com. Questions about the races can also be answered on the website.
