Members of the 310th Space Wing Security Forces Squadron completed the security forces portion of Guardian Challenge 2010 on May 19 at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo.
The four security forces Airmen, Staff Sgts. Chase Alvarez, Alexander Banovz, Chad Dickson and Senior Airman Peter Goodick completed the three day challenge with skill and decision making on the Jacks Valley obstacle course.
"They showed great leadership and decision making on the obstacle course," said Maj. Marcus Corbett, the 310th Security Forces Squadron commander. "They really did an outstanding job and proved again that there is no difference between the active duty and Reserve."
Major Corbett said Guardian Challenge 2010 is an excellent opportunity for Reserve Airmen to demonstrate their skills that are unrivaled.
"(Guardian Challenge) is a good showcase for Reservists," said Major Corbett. "We can compete and perform just as well as they do. Our guys performed at a very high level."
During the challenge, the 310th members competed in shooting and tactical maneuvering in full gear to simulate real-world scenarios, as well as the obstacle course.
"Our guys have deployed a lot, so this competition is just a continuation of what they've done on the job," said Major Corbett, who expressed great satisfaction with his team's performance. "I am extremely proud of those guys. They were incredibly professional representing the wing."
