Military service courses through the blood of the Scott family. The brothers and nephew gathered at the Reserve National Space Security Institute March 7 to pin the hard-earned rank of Senior Master Sergeant on Air Force Reservist Todd M. Scott March 7.
Eldest brother U.S. Navy Lieutenant Sean L. Scott, naval intelligence analyst for U.S. Northern Command, served as the presiding official for the promotion ceremony. Younger brother Master Sgt. Jeffery P. Scott, superintendent of the 310th Operations Support Flight at Schriever Air Force Base, was the master of ceremonies and nephew Airman Jeremy T. Scott, event manager at Peterson AFB's 310th Communication Flight, was the proffer. Senior Master Sgt. Todd M. Scott is the superintendent at RNSSI, Charlie Division.
"Having three uncles already in the military motivates me to make the right choices," said Airman Scott.
With a combined total of 46 years in the military, the Scott family has a broad range of experience that includes assignments to Qatar, Japan, Spain, Norway, Iraq and of course, here in Colorado at Buckley, Peterson and Schriever AFBs, and Cheyenne Mountain.
As the family members migrated to Colorado and made Colorado Springs their home, they have dedicated effort and time into the community here. Of special importance to the Scott family is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, since Sean Scott has two children with diabetes.
