The Air Force Reserve's 310th and 710th Security Forces Squadrons, along with the 310th Sustainment Services Flight, trained together in field conditions August 1-4 at Fort Carson's Airburst range in Pueblo, Colo. The 310th and 710th SFS were practicing their yearly proficiency firing on specific weapon systems. Each reservist was required to shoot 1,200 rounds of ammunition. Air Force Reserve Senior Airman Aaron Loving, 710th SFS combat arms, was one of several instructors teaching during the four days. "If we had to go to war tomorrow, our shooters would know exactly what to do," said Loving. As the security forces squadrons were training, the 310th SSF was setting up their field kitchen to serve hot meals and support reservists returning from the field. "We are super pleased to do it," said Master Sgt. Thomas Metcalf, 310th SSF non-commissioned officer in charge. "We are also getting the training that we need on equipment that we have not trained on or used in an actual environment." The 310th SFS is assigned to Schriever AFB, while the 710th SFS and 310th SSF are assigned to Buckley AFB. All of the units are part of the 310th Space Wing, Schriever AFB.
