Collier 310th Space Wing Public Affairs SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The 310th Space Wing's newest captain-selects were announced to wing members via e-mail Jan. 7. The two first lieutenants were selected from the 2013 "Second Half" promotion board, bringing the total number of captain promotions for 2013 to three. The 6th Space Operations Squadron's 1st Lt. Cody Smith was selected earlier in 2013. The lieutenants recently selected for promotion are: 1st Lt. Michael Reinitz Detachment 1, 8th Space Warning Squadron 1st Lt. Scott Hollister, Jr. 380th Space Control Squadron Commenting on his selection for promotion to captain, Reinitz said he looked forward to continuing his service to both the country, and the wing. "Just as when I was promoted though the first few ranks of Airman," said the prior service officer, "some would say these ranks are given away. However, most could name a few who never did get promoted. With each promotion comes greater responsibility to those I serve both above and below me and I look forward to the opportunity." Hollister echoed those comments, saying being selected for promotion to captain was a "very humbling experience." It's a great reminder of the benefits that come with both determination and always having an outstanding group of mentors and leaders."
