SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. --
New summer options for youth, Green Dot program kick off, the 14 TES participating at the AFCEA symposium and numerous other events happening locally.
Each of these news stories show the Air Force isn’t slowing
down, and Reservists should be in the know on the biggest issues affecting
them, whether in the 310th Space Wing or the Department of Defense overall. And
the wing’s public affairs office is about to make that easier.
Every month 310th SW members will receive “Space
Junk” in their e-mails, a new “e-blast” condensing important news and
information from the wing and around the Air Force into a pre-Unit Training
Assembly e-mail.
“We are always looking for ways to improve how we
communicate with members of our wing,” said Lt. Col. David Fruck, chief of the
wing’s public affairs office. “This monthly email will highlight stories of
interest to our Reservists and also look ahead to coming events.”
Space Junk not only links to articles of interest and
highlights important news items, but will provide for an ease of access to relevant
information through graphical buttons that appear as “apps” from smart devices.
According to Fruck, this representation will make it easy for Reservists to
stay on top of what’s important to them, month to month, while not having to endure
long e-mails or open attachments.
“As with any communication product, we are trying to produce
something that is convenient and easy to use,” said Fruck. “We’re always
looking for feedback on how we can make it better.”
Space Junk “apps” will include financial information, links
to the wing’s social media pages and timely events like this spring’s wing
Combat Dining In.
Reservists can also have their monthly Space Junk sent to
their home e-mail address. The e-mail subscription service is secure, and can
be found on the wing’s public affairs webpage. Just input you home e-mail
address and click “Go.”
