AF Reserve space squadron assumes control over nation's weather satellites
Air Force Reserve Tech. Sgt. David Hodge (center) provides his fellow 6th Space Operations Squadron members with a crew in-brief April 3, 2014 at Schriever Air Force Base, Colo. The squadron's satellite vehicle operators assumed command of the nation's Defense Meteorological Satellite Program weather satellites from their National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration counterparts as the nation's newest weather satellite lifted into orbit aboard an Atlas V rocket at Vandenberg AFB, Calif. The squadron will oversee all weather satellite operations until April 8. Hodge is the squadron’s standardization and evaluation non-commissioned officer in charge. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt.
