Gold Star Mothers Day: cherishing memories
Patricia O’Kane-Trombley reflects on the life of her son at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017. Her son, Capt. Thomas Gramith, was an F-15E Strike Eagle pilot stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, who died while deployed to Afghanistan in 2009. Shortly after her son’s death, O’Kane Trombley joined Gold Star Mothers, a service organization that supports grieving mothers and veterans. The group sets aside Sept. 24 as Gold Star Mothers Day.
