Space Operators visit Lockheed Martin to see GPS III satellite production
Airmen gather near a GPS III model at Lockheed Martin prior to entering a restricted area Aug. 6, 2020, in Littleton, Colorado. During the tour, Airmen learned about the care Lockheed Martin employees put into building satellites. During the core mate process, workers use a two-ton crane to rotate and lower a satellite into the vertical propulsion core while crew members ensure systems and equipment are intact.
